Kirill Rodin
Graduated from the Moscow Gnessins Music School and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He was a pupil of Vera Birina, Natalia Shakhovskaya, Tatiana Gaidamovich and Alexander Bonduriansky. First prize winner of the International Cello Competition in Belgrade in 1984 and the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1986. His concert tours as recitalist and soloist with orchestra have taken him to over 50 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and the Americas. His discography includes works by Bach, Beethoven, Haydn, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, and Piazzolla. Member of the Brahms Trio since 2008. He is a Professor of cello at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and Honorary Professor at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. He has been a jury member at many international cello competitions, including the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow. In 2021-2022, as a member of the Brahms Trio he was nominated for the International Classical Music Award (ICMA) and for the Opus Klassik Award for the project "History of the Russian Piano Trio".
