Nikolai Sachenko (violin)

Born in 1977. He received his musical education at the Moscow Central Music School (class of Professor Zoya Mahtina) and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory (classes of Professor Sergey Kravchenko and Professor Vladimir Ivanov).

Nikolai Sachenko was nominated as a Laureate and was honoured with the Public Preference Prize at the International Leopold Mozart Competition in Augsburg in 1995, and was awarded the Gold Medal at the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1998.

He has performed in Russia, Japan, USA, China, throughout Europe and Latin America, at international festivals in Beijing, Kronberg, Prague, and at the Rostropovich Festival in Evian. Nikolay Sachenko has played with many acclaimed conductors and orchestras, performing in ensembles alongside Yuri Bashmet, Gidon Kremer, Lynn Harrell, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Denis Shapovalov and others.

The musician has been greatly impressed by artistic encounters with Yehudi Menuhin, Isaac Stern and Mstislav Rostropovich.
